CRAFTING UNFORGETTABLE WEDDING MOMENTS
Marilyn The Wedding Celebrant is dedicated to creating memorable and personalized wedding ceremonies in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. With a focus on inclusivity and diversity, I offer a wide range of ceremony styles, including spiritual, religious, civil, humanist, military, and more. Couples are encouraged to blend various elements to design a ceremony that truly reflects their unique beliefs and preferences, ensuring that their special day is a true reflection of their love and commitment.
My journey began with a passion for celebrating love and uniting couples in a meaningful and authentic way. With a meticulous attention to detail and a warm, personable approach, I strive to make every ceremony a reflection of your story and values, ensuring that each moment is filled with joy, love, and cherished memories.
After years of dedicating myself to the craft of singing and entertaining, I found a new calling that beautifully intertwines my passions: becoming a celebrant. Each wedding I officiate feels like a celebration of love, and my background as a performer allows me to infuse these moments with heartfelt emotion. The joy of singing at weddings brings a unique energy to each ceremony, creating a romantic atmosphere that resonates deeply with couples and their guests. I thrive on the genuine connections I forge during these events, and there’s something incredibly fulfilling about being an integral part of a couple’s special day.
As I stand before loved ones, my experience as a performer enhances the ceremony, allowing me to engage the audience and capture the essence of the couple’s story. Often evoking laughter and tears. For me, each performance isn't just about the music; it's about creating memories that will last a lifetime, either as a performer or a celebrant. Transitioning from the stage to the role of a celebrant has not only enriched my career but has also deepened my appreciation for love and commitment. The unique combination of wedding ceremonies and live music continues to inspire me and reminds me daily of the magic that surrounds us in the name of love.

Marilyn was born in Glasgow, Scotland, but lived her early childhood, in many places including, Elgin in the very north of Scotland, to Kuwait and various other destinations. Music was a part of her life from a very early age, singing and dancing 24/7 driving her elder Brother and Sister to distraction.
It was clear that music was her gift, so at the young age of 14 Marilyn had her first recording contract, this was sadly not developed at the time, for various reasons. Things changed and there was a move to Glasgow, still 14 yrs old Marilyn was now the lead singer of an alternative rock band gigging in and around Glasgow playing original songs, also performing a rock/jazz festival for Scottish Opera, whist still attending school…..
At the age of 18 …money had to be the new focus for her….So off She went to London…auditioned…and joined a high calibre 5 piece band, working for Haven….Fantastic band…and great times for years, whist also in the winter months gigging as a solo performer working in Orlando Florida, Hamamatsu Japan, Europe and the UK…during this time Marilyn still kept increasing her own written original songs in the hope of one day being able to produce them.
Marilyn has steadily been a working vocalist, worldwide… and In these last few years has entertained the likes of Paul McCartney, and PrinceAl-Waleed bin Talal in an exclusive resort in Cyprus.
As well as performing, Marilyn has a state of the art recording studio in her home, recording and producing various artists, under the name of MCD Records. Marilyn also has a flare for art, which led her to graphic design, videography and video editing, and produces logo's, brochures, flyers, and videos under the name of MCD Media.
It's all go...:)
Not only all of the above but Marilyn coaches budding performers too.
If you listen to the radio you may even catch her dulcet tones on some radio commercials too.
